The Toronto Raptors could be on the verge of making more trades.
With the trade deadline a day away, Toronto could get busy as a seller.
According to Adrian Wojnarowski, one player who is ‘very likely’ to be traded prior to the trade deadline is Bruce Brown.
The Raptors asking price for Brown is a first-round pick and a quality player according to Marc Stein.
One of the teams that continues to be linked to Brown is the New York Knicks. However, their offer might not be what Toronto is looking for.
According to The Athletic’s Fred Katz, the Knicks have revealed what they are willing to give up for the 27-year-old:
“The Knicks have spoken with the Toronto about Bruce Brown, league sources have said, but Grimes hasn’t been part of those conversations. Instead, discussions have centered around Evan Fournier and draft compensation for Brown.”
Not sure if Fournier is going to cut it when it comes to the Raptors wanting to get a ‘quality’ player back in a deal.
Toronto definitely wants draft compensation for Brown, but they will likely want a young player back as well who can fit in their rebuilding timeline.
Brown was a huge piece on the Denver Nuggets a season ago as the team won the 2023 NBA Championship. He can help every contending team with his versatile skills.
With many teams reportedly interested in Brown, it does seem likely that the Raptors will move on from him before the deadline on Thursday.
Schroder on Timberwolves radar
Brown might not be the only Raptors player who is moved ahead of the trade deadline. The Raptors could look to offload many of their veteran players in exchange for future assets.
Another player who has recently popped up in trade rumors is point guard Dennis Schroder.
The Minnesota Timberwolves reportedly have the veteran guard on their radar.
