The Toronto Raptors could end up having a fire sale with the NBA Trade Deadline now just two days away.
Many of their players have come up in trade rumors and the latest is Dennis Schroder.
The Raptors signed Schroder this past offseason after losing Fred VanVleet in free agency.
Schroder came in as a placeholder point guard to see if the team was going to still be able to contend.
The Raptors season went south and then the team made drastic changes trading O.G. Anunoby and Pascal Siakam.
Now the Raptors could rip the bandaid off and look to completely overhaul their roster.
Schroder is a veteran point guard who can offer a lot to a contending team.
According to The Athletic’s Jon Krawczynski, the Timberwolves have Schroder on their radar and a former Raptors point guard as well:
“Toronto’s Dennis Schroder and Kyle Lowry, who was recently traded from Miami to Charlotte, and likely will be moving on via trade or buyout are two other names on the radar. Finch coached Lowry for half of a season in Toronto before he was hired to take over in Minnesota”
The Timberwolves are among the top teams in the Western Conference so they could look to get aggressive. Adding another veteran point guard to run their second unit would be a smart idea.
Both Schroder and Lowry have plenty of playoff experience.
It will come down to what the Raptors are asking for if the Timberwolves are serious about acquiring Schroder. He still has one-year left on his current contract with the Raptors at $13 million.
Schroder is one of many Raptors players who continue to be mentioned in trade talks.

Another Raptors veteran who could be on the move is Chris Boucher.
Toronto is reportedly trying to find a landing spot for the 31-year-old whose days as a Raptor appear to be over.
