Masai Ujiri hinted that more moves were coming for the Toronto Raptors ahead of the Feb. 8 trade deadline after trading away Pascal Siakam.
With the trade deadline now two days away, the Raptors could get busy.
Toronto is in the mists of a rebuild and they are reconstructing their roster. They have a lot of players on their team that would make sense to move.
One of their players who could be traded is Chris Boucher. Is he a veteran big man who can help plenty of contending teams looking to add depth to their bench.
According to Doug Smith of the Toronto Star, the Raptors are trying to find a landing spot for Boucher:
“Chris Boucher has fallen out of favour — he didn’t get off the bench in Houston and Oklahoma City — and league sources suggest the Raptors are trying to find a landing spot for him. But complicating the matter is the one year and nearly $11 million (U.S.) left on his contract. Teams might shy away from that number, especially with Boucher not being used, and any return would be minimal.”
Boucher has fallen out of the rotation and was only used in New Orleans because the game was a blowout.
As Smith mentioned, it could be tough to find a team looking to take on that $11 million, but Boucher is a big who can space the floor and hit threes. A valuable skillset for teams to add to their depth.
The 31-year-old has spent 6 seasons with Toronto and he is the last remaining player from the Raptors 2019 championship roster.
Boucher could be one of many Raptors players who get dealt before the deadline.
Boucher linked to Celtics
The Boston Celtics are looking for frontcourt help and Chris Boucher is someone they have liked for a while according to Yahoo Sports’ Jake Fischer.
