The Toronto Raptors are embarking on a new journey as a franchise.

After trading Pascal Siakam and O.G. Anunoby, Toronto is looking to build things around Scottie Barnes.

The building blocks of a good and speedy rebuild are draft capital. Acquiring as many first-round picks as possible will be key for the Raptors and drafting well to pair with Barnes.

It all begins this summer with the 2024 NBA Draft. This will be an intriguing time for the Raptors as Masai Ujiri leads the charge in trying to turn the organization around.

According to Bleacher Report’s Jonathan Wasserman, he revealed in his Mock Draft that he has the Raptors taking three backcourt players.

Those three players are Ron Dillingham out of Kentucky at No. 6, Devin Carter from Providence at No. 20 and Dillon Jones from Weber State at No. 28.

Dillingham is a 6’3″ guard, who was given the pro comparison of Kemba Walker. He is viewed as a top-10 pick with quality ball-handling, shiftiness, shooting and playmaking abilities.

Carter is a 6’3″ guard as well, who offers a defensive edge. He is an energy guy as he has the shot-blocking ability and makes hustle plays. Offense is a bit of a question, but is starting to come around, raising his ceiling. Wasserman compares Carter to Jose Alvarado and Miles McBride.

Jones has a hybrid of the two as a triple-double skill set kind of player. He is a heavier guard at 6’6″, 235 pounds, but is a physical ball-handler, who can playmake. He also possesses the ability to create for himself in the mid-range, but his 3-point shooting is a question mark. Earning him the comparison of David Roddy.

NBA insider shares Bruce Brown trade update

While the draft is important, Toronto still has some work to do this year. The trade deadline is now one week away on Feb. 8 and the Raptors could look to collect more assets.

An insider offered an update on Bruce Brown, who seems to be the next player potentially moved by Toronto.
