Gradey Dick was selected No. 13 overall by the Toronto Raptors in the 2023 NBA Draft.
The rookie didn’t see much playing time in the first few months of the season. He was mostly with Raptors 905 trying to find his rhythm as a shooter.
Now with the Raptors in a rebuild, Dick is seeing more minutes. He has been making the most out of his opportunities lately and he is looking a lot more comfortable on the floor.
Dick had an 11-point outing on 3-6 shooting from deep on Jan. 20 against the New York Knicks. Most recently, Dick had one of his best performance of the season against the Atlanta Hawks on Jan. 28.
Dick scored 15 points on 5-12 shooting from the field and 3-5 from deep. He had 5 rebounds, 3 assists and 1 steal in 25 minutes of action. One of Dick’s 3 assists came in a wild sequence where he found Barnes for the dunk to put the Raptors up 1 with 7.4 seconds left in the fourth quarter:

Dick learning from Korver
Before the game against Atlanta, Dick caught up with legendary sharpshooter Kyle Korver who is now the assistant general manger for the Hawks.
Dick mentioned that Korver has been giving him advice since last Summer League and that before the game against the Hawks they were chatting about certain workout drills he can incorporate, per Raptors sideline reporter Savanna Hamilton.
Korver is someone who Dick should be taking advice from. Korver shot it 42.9 percent from deep in his career and was a premiere three-point shooter in the NBA.
Dick is looking a lot more confident and he is beginning to hit his shots with more consistency. If Dick can turn into the sharpshooter that he was touted to be coming out of college then he will go on to have a nice career.
