Darko Rajakovic is starting to build winning habits with the Toronto Raptors.

He outmatched Steve Kerr as the Toronto Raptors went into Chase Center on Jan. 8 beat the Golden State Warriors 133-118 win.

Rajakovic getting a signature win over someone like Kerr who has won five NBA titles as a player and four as a coach is meaningful.

While on the Raptors West Coast trip, Rajakovic crossed paths with another legendary coach. He met NBA Hall of Fame coach and arguably the greatest coach of all-time Phil Jackson:

Jackson is the winningest head coach in NBA history. He is an 11-time NBA champion and has three three-peats to his name. He finished his career with back-to-back titles with the Lakers.

Jackson has won 11 rings as a coach and 2 as a player with the New York Knicks. He trails only the late Red Auberback for the most titles by one person in NBA history.

Rajakovic must have learned a lot from his conversation wit Jackson. Jackson has coached legends like Michael Jordan, Shaquille O’Neal, Kobe Bryant, Scottie Pippen and many more.

Rajakovc is in Los Angeles with the Raptors as his team gets set on to take on the Lakers and then they will play the Los Angeles Clippers on the second night of a back-to-back.

The Raptors have been looking a lot better recently and their offense is starting to click over the last 15 games:

Fun facts about the Raptors’ offence in the last 15 games:
– 7th best offensive rating
– 5th best halfcourt offence since Dec. 8th
– 2nd in assists with 31.4
– Open or wide open for 93.5% of their 3PA
– 40% of their FGA came in the first 7 sec. of the shot clock, 3rd highest

Next up for Raptors

Rajakovic and the Raptors look to make it 2 wins in a row and 4 of their last 5 when they take on the Lakers. The Raptors are currently 2-1 on their west coast trip.
