Pascal Siakam finds himself in the center of trade rumors with the NBA Trade Deadline a little more than a month away.
League sources expect Toronto to move on from Siakam before the deadline and many teams have popped up as potential suitors.
The latest team is a Western Conference team that could be looking to make a splash to keep their title hopes alive.
According to NBA Insider Chris Haynes, the Golden State Warriors are a team to watch for Siakam:
“There’s a wild horse team out there that I’ve been told to look out for by rival executives…The Golden State Warriors… I do think ultimately, this will be the trade deadline where Pascal is eventually moved.”
This is interesting because Haynes reports this on the same day that both Jonathan Kuminga and Moses Moody are reportedly unhappy with their current roles in Golden State.
Kuminga has lost faith in Steve Kerr and no longer believes that Kerr will allow him to reach his full potential, per Shams Charania.
Also Moody’s camp is frustrated with his current role with the Warriors, per Jason Dumas.
Both players would be of big interest to the Raptors in a potential deal. To match salary the Warriors would need to include Chris Paul or Canadian Andrew Wiggins in a deal as well.
The Warriors are still in win now mode. They have Stephen Curry still playing at a high level and veterans like Klay Thompson and Draymond Green still on the team.
Therefore, the Warriors could look to get aggressive and trade for a younger star to help them get over the top.
Siakam is turning 30-years-old this year and he is still putting up All-Star numbers. The star forward would be a great fit with the Warriors.
Meanwhile, the Raptors would get back more young pieces to further compliment building around Scottie Barnes.
Pacers interested in Siakam
It seems like there could end up being a bidding war for Siakam as many teams are interested in his services.
The Indiana Pacers are another team that is expected to show a lot of interest in Siakam.
