The Detroit Pistons snapped their 28-game losing streak against the Toronto Raptors on Dec. 30.

This was arguably the worst loss in Raptors franchise history.

Toronto fell flat in Detroit and now they have to live with this loss for a long time.

Following the game Dennis Schroder had some interesting words about the Raptors and seemingly called out their team culture via TSN’s Kayla Grey :

“I mean, the culture is just difficult. When I got here Darko did a great job just putting this system to the organization but I think we just got to follow that. Everybody just being unselfish, share the ball because at the end of the day not one or two person you know. We need everybody even the guys who already play. People got to be grateful cheering on their teammates when they get a stop or when they get on the floor or dive. Pick them up being excited for another and I mean, I don’t want to you know, go deep into that but I need to you know, feel that because in the summer I did and we had you know, I went to war with all my brothers from the national team. We knew we had each other and I don’t feel it here yet like that. I just want to you know, every single day I just want to keep going at it. We built relationships you know, I know it’s hard because NBA is a little bit individual as well. But at the end of they day if you keep playing like this nobody’s gonna win.”

Schroder saying that the Raptors culture is difficult suggests that there’s a disconnect between the players and until that changes the Raptors will continue to struggle.

Raptors need a spark

The Raptors were hoping that changing their head coach and player leadership was going to spark this franchise, but right now it seems like Toronto is at an all-time low when it comes to their team morale.

It’ll be interesting to see how the Raptors respond following these comments made by Schroder.
