Pressure is mounting for the Toronto Raptors after a disappointing 2022-23 season and now lackluster start to the 2023-24 season.

Now sitting at 11-18, the Raptors find themselves in a peculiar spot. With the way things are going right now, rumors are swirling and pointing to Toronto making moves at the trade deadline or earlier.

O.G. Anunoby and Pascal Siakam are set to become unrestricted free agents next summer. Both found themselves in heavy trade rumors in the offseason and now are at the forefront again.

The Detroit Pistons could have interest in Toronto’s forwards in free agency. Currently, on a 27-game losing streak, Detroit is ‘actively looking’ for a 4-man, via Shams Charania on Run It Back TV:

“I’m told some names to keep an eye on, Pascal Siakam, OG Anunoby, Tobias Harris and Miles Bridges.”

The Pistons have been in limbo the past few seasons with either being mediocre or at the bottom of the Eastern Conference. Their fanbase is at the point of wanting results and this season is not what they wanted.

After achieving an historic losing streak, Detroit is trying to pick up some wins. However, due to the extreme circumstances, no trade is going to turn around their season, the damage is already done.

For Toronto, it is not entirely clear what the Pistons would offer in any potential Anunoby or Siakam trade if Detroit went the trading route. With some intriguing options in Cade Cunningham, Jaden Ivey and Jalen Duren, it is to be assumed that those guys are untouchable.

If the Raptors decide to make some moves, Masai Ujiri should prioritize draft capital and promising young talent.

Rumors have been coming out of left and right field, expect that to continue up to the trade deadline.

Knicks interested in Anunoby

Anunoby was in high demand at last season’s trade deadline and that has not changed with now more teams becoming interested this season.

The NBA is a wing-centric league and a team cannot have enough wings. Anunoby has earned the reputation of a great 3-and-D wing, who can certainly help contending teams.

The New York Knicks, are another team that have entered the mix. Anunoby would fit well alongside a defensive-minded head coach in Tom Thibodeau.
