The Toronto Raptors fall to the Philadelphia 76ers for the third time this season 121-111.

Toronto got off to a great start winning the opening quarter 37-28. However, the 76ers then closed the 2nd quarter on a 22-10 to take a 3 point lead into halftime. The 76ers led by 4 points going into the fourth quarter and then outscored the Raptors 28-22 in the final frame to pull away with the 10 point win.

Joel Embiid suffered an ankle injury in the first quarter when he landed awkwardly trying to block a shot, but he played through it.

He finished the game with 31 points, 10 rebounds and 9 assists. Embiid’s 12 game 30-10 streak is the longest in the NBA since Kareem Abdul-Jabbar did it for 16 straight games in 1971-72.

Embiid has scored 30 points or more in 14 straight games. That’s the most in the NBA since James Harden had a 32-game run in 2018-19.

Tyrese Maxey chipped in with 33 points and 10 assists. Meanwhile, Tobias Harris had 33 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists.

The 76ers’ big 3 combined for 97 of the 76ers 121 points. The 76ers trio is the first in franchise history to each record 30+ points in the same game since 1961.

Pascal Siakam did all he could for the Raptors as he finished with 31 points, 5 assists, 5 rebounds.

Siakam is now top-five in Raptors franchise history in points, rebounds, and assists.

Jakob Poeltl bounced back and had a solid game of 19 points, 8 rebounds. But the rest of Toronto’s starters struggled offensively.

O.G. Anunoby had 12 points, Dennis Schroder scored 6 and Scottie Barnes had an off night scoring 12 points on 3-11 shooting. His streak of 6 straight games scoring 20 or more points comes to an end.

Barnes was good in other areas though. He grabbed 7 rebounds, had 8 assists, 1 steal and 4 blocked shots.

Gary Trent Jr. was the lone bright spot from off the bench as he finished with 17.

With the loss the Raptors now drop to 0-8 against the Atlantic Division this season.

The Raptors will have a quick turnaround for their next game. They travel back home to take on the Utah Jazz on Dec. 23.
