The Toronto Raptors already find themselves in trade rumors as trade season has officially started.
The Raptors are 10-15 and are in 11th in the Eastern Conference. They could make a major trade soon.
One player that has been linked to the Raptors is Keegan Murray of the Sacramento Kings.
The Kings are expected to have interest in both O.G. Anunoby and Pascal Siakam.
According to Yahoo Sports’ Jake Fischer, the Raptors are expected to seek Keegan Murray in exchange for either of their forwards.
Murray is someone many feel like the Kings won’t part ways with because of his talented upside. The second year player’s full potential was on display in the Kings latest win over the Utah Jazz.
Murray scored a career-high 47 points on a ridiculous 12-15 from three. He also hauled in 8 rebounds and had 2 assists. He stepped up in a big way with De’Aaron Fox out.
For the season Murray is averaging 15.5 points, 5.7 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.2 steals. He’s doing it on 44.1 percent shooting from the field and 35.7 percent shooting from three.
Murray should be the center piece in any potential Siakam or Anunoby trade. If the Raptors could somehow pry away Murray from the Kings they should absolutely do it.
Sacramento could get aggressive as the NBA trade deadline approaches. The team recently got their first taste of the postseason for the first time since 2006 so they could be looking to make a move that helps put them over the top
Adding a player like Anunoby or Siakam next to Fox and Domantas Sabonis would set the Kings up nicely in a competitive Western Conference.
However, it’ll come down to if the Kings are willing to pay up and give up Murray in the deal.
