Dennis Schroder had his worst game as a member of the Toronto Raptor on Nov. 6 against the Miami Heat.

Schroder had 9 points on 4-18 shooting from the field and he was 1-5 from three. He had 3 turnovers and was a -6 in 35 minutes of action.

Schroder did a lot of dribbling and held onto the ball longer than he should. He forced up a lot of tough shots and ended up taking the most shots on the team despite his struggles.

He was looking for his offensive when he should have been deferring to his teammates. Scottie Barnes only had a few shot attempts in the first-half and Pascal Siakam who had a game-high 30 points only took 13 shots total.

Schroder was a big reason why the Raptors couldn’t complete the comeback and beat the Heat.

He recently appeared on The Raptors Show and acknowledged his poor performance:

Schroder said that he apologized to the team for his bad game and needs to flush this one. This kind of accountability shown by Schroder is admirable.

It shows that Schroder cares and wants to be a better teammate. The Raptors need Schroder to play smart basketball if they want to crawl back into the playoff mix.

Schroder is capable of being a passive point guard and setting the table for his teammates. He had a stretch where he had 21 assists and 0 turnovers over a 2 game span.

Therefore, Schroder needs to get back to the basics which helped him get off to a hot start with the Raptors.

Schroder looks to bounce back

Schroder will look to bounce back when the Raptors take on the Charlotte Hornets on Dec. 8.

Schroder has a chance to redeem himself against a team that will be missing their star point guard in LaMelo Ball.
