The Toronto Raptors have struggled out of the gate. The team is 9-11 and they have a lot of room for improvment.

However, one thing the Raptors have done well so far this season is being unselfish. Which is ironic because President Masai Ujiri said that the Raptors were selfish last season.

The Raptors have done an excellent job sharing the basketball this season. Toronto has set a franchise record for most assists through the first 20 games of a season with 562, breaking the mark of 515 set during the 2019-20 season. The Raptors’ 562 total assists are second only to the defending champion Denver Nuggets (632) for most in the NBA this season.

Toronto set a franchise record for most assists in a game with 44 against the Detroit Pistons on Nov. 19.

The Raptors are definitely playing an unselfish style of basketball.

The Raptors averaged 23.9 assists per game last season, which was 23rd in the league. They are averaging averaging 28.1 assists per game this season which is tied for fifth overall with the Golden State Warriors.

Leading the facilitating for the Raptors is Dennis Schroder who is averaging a team-high 7 assists per game. Schroder has been very effective with his passing the last three games, recording
30 assists with just two turnovers. He joins Jose Calderon and Alvin Williams as just the third player in Raptors history to achieve this in a three-game span.

Then right behind Schroder, Scottie Barnes is averaging 5.5 assists per game. Barnes has done a terrific job setting his teammates up and has proven to be a jack of all trades.

Barnes is one of just four players who has recorded over 300 points, 150 rebounds, 100 assists and 20 steals this season, joining superstars LeBron James, Nikola Jokic and Luka Doncic.

Dick shuts down speculation on his shot changing

Gradey Dick recently shut down the idea that his jump shot changed from college.

The rookie continues to get reps in with Raptors 905 as he looks to regain his confidence.
