Scottie Barnes is having himself a great year 3 with the Toronto Raptors so far
He has shown many flashed of brilliance and continues to show his elite two-way potential.
Not only does Barnes continue to evolve offensively, but his defense has been standout as well.
Barnes has shown his ability to guard every position on the court. He has also racked up a ton of steals and blocks.
Barnes had 5 steals in the Raptors loss against the New York Knicks on Dec. 1.
He is currently in the top 4 when it comes to the most stocks this season. Stocks are total steals and blocks:

For the season Barnes is averaging 19.6 points, 9.1 rebounds, 5.5 assists, 1.8 steals and 1.3 blocks. He’s doing this on a 46.6 percent from the field and a career-high 38.2 percent from three.
But it’s been his active hands on the defensive end that has gotten a lot of attention. Barnes is constantly looking to get his hands on the ball and is always lurking for a big block:

In a season of inconsistent play, Barnes has been the consistent bright spot for the Raptors. It’s clear that the Raptors have their main building block in Barnes.
Next up for Raptors
The Raptors are currently enjoying some days off because of the In-Season Tournament Quarterfinals taking place. The Raptors haven’t played since Dec. 1 and won’t play until Dec. 6 against the Miami Heat.
The Raptors have lost 3 of their last 4 games. At 9-11 Toronto needs to get back in the win column or else they could be in some serious trouble.
