The Toronto Raptors inconsistent season continues. Following their impressive win over the Phoenix Suns the Raptors came out flat and dropped an early important game to the New York Knicks.
The Raptors who were well rested in this one started the game slow. The Knicks got out to an early first quarter lead. But then Toronto responded with a solid second quarter as this game was tied at 57 going into half-time.
The Knicks then took over in the third quarter outscoring the Raptors 33-20. Toronto tried to keep it close but the Knicks bench production and three-point shooting was too much to overcome.
The Knicks bench outscored the Raptors bench 52-25. Donte DiVincenzo led all bench scorers with 22 points. He made 7 three-pointers. New York made 16 threes overall. Meanwhile, the Raptors struggled mightily from deep. They were 6-32 from three.
Toronto’s lone bright spot in this one was Scottie Barnes. He finished the game with a huge stat line. Barnes had 29 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals on 13-19 shooting from the field. He was the reason why the Raptors hung around in the second-half.
Unfortunately, Barnes didn’t have much help around him. Pascal Siakam finished with 21 points but he did most of his damage in the first-half. As for the rest of the starters O.G. Anunoby and Dennis Schroder struggled from the field and Jakob Poeltl finished with 12 points and 12 rebounds.
Toronto just didn’t have an answer for New York’s shooting in this one. The Knicks were led by Jalen Brunson who had a team-high 22 points.
New York led by as many as 19 points and outscored Toronto 60-48 in the paint.
The Raptors continue to have an up and down season. Through 20 games there have been some good performances but many bad performances as well. Toronto is 9-11 and will have a few days to think about this loss.

Due to the In-Season Tournament Quarterfinals the Raptors will have a mini break. They won’t play again until Nov. 6 when they host Kyle Lowry and the Miami Heat.
