It’s been an up and down season for the Toronto Raptors to this point. The team is 9-11 and lacks long-term direction.
There was speculation on if the Raptors would blow it up after they lost Fred VanVleet in free agency to the Houston Rockets. However, the Raptors signed veteran guard Dennis Schroder, re-signed Jakob Poeltl and ran it back with the current roster.
The Raptors seemingly wanted to see how this team as constructed under new head coach Darko Rajakovic would perform.
But as the bad loses continue to mount, the one against the New York Knicks being the latest, fans are starting to grow frustrated with the Raptors current situation.
Masai Ujiri appeared on the Raptors broadcast and was interviewed by TSN Reporter Kayla Grey. Grey asked Ujiri about the Raptors season:

Ujiri did acknowledge the team’s up and down season. He said it’s a new system but the goal is to win. He wants to grow this team and asses the situation as it comes.
When asked about the team’s direction, Ujiri mentioned building around Scottie Barnes. He also mentioned Pascal Siakam, O.G. Anunoby & young players like Gradey Dick. He said he will let it sit and see how these players progress in the new system and will go from there.
Ujiri didn’t provide much clarity on the Raptors lack of direction. He did his best to answer around the question. It’s the wait and see approach that fans are growing tired of.
The Raptors continue to show that they are a middling team and until Ujiri finally steps up to the plate and makes a decision about this team’s direction then the Raptors will continue to be stuck in the middle.
Raptors have a little break
Following their loss to the Knicks, the Raptors will now have a mini break. Toronto will have a few days off before they play their next game on Nov. 6 against the Miami Heat.
