The Toronto Raptors roller coaster of a season continues. After suffering back-to-back bad loses to the Cleveland Cavaliers and Brooklyn Nets the Raptors turn in one of their best performances of the season.

They beat the Phoenix Suns 112-105 and snap their 7-game winning streak. The Raptors had some plane issues and didn’t get back to Toronto until 4 a.m. However, it did not matter as the Raptors used adrenaline to propel themselves to victory.

The Raptors defense was superb in this one. They held one of the best offensive teams in the league in check. The Suns shot it 40.4 percent from the field and 26.9 percent from three.

O.G. Anunoby did an excellent job on Kevin Durant. Durant finished the game with a game-high 30 points but he did it on 11-30 shooting from the field. Also, Scottie Barnes contained Devin Booker as he was only 2-12 from the field for 8 points.

The defensive effort and overall effort was there for the Raptors. Also, the Raptors had timely responses. The Suns overcame two 12-point deficits but the Raptors stood their ground on route to the big win.

Leading the charge for the Raptors was Scottie Barnes who saved his best for the fourth quarter. Fourth quarter Scottie was on full display as Barnes scored 12 of his 23 points in the final frame.

Barnes completely turned his fortunes around. After a slow start where he had 4 points on 1-4 shooting from the field in the first half, Barnes exploded for 19 points on 6-11 shooting in the second half. He also added 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 blocked shots. Barnes was a perfect 8-8 from the free throw line.

Speaking of free throws the Raptors finished the game 18-21 from the line.

Pascal Siakam chipped in with 22 points, Jakob Poeltl had 17 and Dennis Schroder finished the game with a season-high 12 assists.

Lastly, the bench for the Raptors produced mainly thanks to Gary Trent Jr. who had another nice game of 13 points and Precious Achiuwa who turned in his best game of the season. Achiuwa was awful against the Nets the other night, but turned it around to the tune of 14 points and 10 rebounds in 18 minutes of action.

Next on tap

The Raptors will look to get back to .500 on the season when they host the New York Knicks on Dec. 1.

This will be the first meeting of the season between the two teams.
