O.G. Anunoby returned to the Raptors starting lineup against the Detroit Pistons.

Anunoby missed three straight games with a right index finger laceration he suffered doing household chores, the Raptors said.

When asked about how he sustained the injury Anunoby did not say:

.@michaelgrange “The people want to know…”
OG: “Laceration, laceration.”

OG isn’t telling how he cut his finger, but said he was gushing blood and took five stitches. Said he felt it grabbing rim and on some catches, but he’s getting better everyday.

Anunboy missed three games this past week because of the injury. The Raptors beat the Washington Wizards without him but then lost to the Milwaukee Bucks and Boston Celtics.

The Raptors benefited from Anunoby being back out there on the court. Their defense seemed much more organized and locked in. Raptors held the Pistons in check all game along.

Anunoby did struggle from the field as expected when dealing with a finger injury. He received 5 stitches on his finger:

O.G. Anunoby confirms he cut his finger at home and had to get five stitches, says it’s getting better everyday.

Also said it was “fun” to do everything left handed all week.

Anunoby finsihed the game with 9 points on 2/11 shooting from the field and 1/6 shooting from deep. Despite the poor shooting numbers, Anunoby was still a +15 in 27 minutes of action.

The Raptors are 5-3 this season when Anunoby plays.

Before enduring his finger injury Anunoby was playing some of the best basketball of his career. Hopefully he can return to form after missing a few games.

For the season Anunoby is averaging 15.6 points, 4.2 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 1.2 steals per game. He’s putting up those numbers while shooting it 47.7 percent from the field and 37.1 percent from three.

Anunoby and the Raptors head on the road

The Raptors will begin a short 2-game road trip on Nov. 21. They will play the Orlando Magic and then will play the Indiana Pacers the next night on Nov. 22.
