O.G. Anunoby has been off to a red-hot start for the Toronto Raptors this season.

The 7-year veteran is averaging 17.6 points, 4.3 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1.1 steals.

Anunoby has been great defensively. He’s constantly guarding the other team’s best player and holding his own. As a result of Anunoby’s stellar defense, Toronto ranks seventh in the league in defensive rating.

Darko Rajakovic has been impressed with how prepared Anunoby has been for these games. Per Sports Illustrated’s Aaron Rose, Rajakovic offered Anunoby a job on his coaching staff when Anunoby eventually retires:

“It’s amazing. It’s just like his ability to guard players like from Giannis [Antetokounmpo] to Luka to when needed to go and guard [Tyrese] Maxey or [Damian] Lillard or whoever, he can guard one through five and he takes a lot a lot of pride on the defensive end.”

Anunoby has done a great job against superstars this season. He is coming off back-to-back games where he held Victor Wembanyama and Luka Doncic in check:

Anunoby is quickly becoming one of the best 3-And-D players in the league. Not only can he play lockdown defense but he’s also shooting it well. In fact, Anunoby has been putting up the best shooting numbers of his career. He’s shooting it 55.3 percent shooting from the field and 41.7 percent from three.

Anunoby is only 26-years-old and still has a long career ahead of him. However, once his career is over it seems like he’ll have coaching opportunities waiting for him.

76ers could have eye on O.G. Anunoby

Anunoby’s name has been in constant trade rumors over the years. Many teams could benefit from his skillset.

The Philadelphia 76ers could be a team that purses O.G. Anunoby in free agency since they’ll have a lot of cap space to work with.
