Precious Achiuwa hasn’t suited up for the Raptors in the last 4 games.

However, that could change soon. Achiuwa took part in a full workout Tuesday.

Darko Rajakovic said that he’s “progressing very well” as he looks to make his return to the court from a groin injury:

Precious went through another full workout today and is ‘progressing very well’ … availability will be determined after shoot-around. (groin).

Achiuwa’s status for the Raptors road game against the Dallas Mavericks on Nov. 8 will be determined after shootaround, but according to Michael Grange things look promising for Achiuwa:

Achiuwa officially listed as questionable (questionable) but based on word at practice here in Dallas, I’ll be very surprised if he doesn’t play: https://t.co/DLrZLqjJ4z

Achiuwa is an important piece of the Raptors bench as the team hopes to have him back in Dallas. He has averaged 7.3 points and 8 rebounds in three games so far this season.

Last season, Achiuwa averaged 9.2 points and six rebounds in 55 games.

With Toronto’s bench getting off to a slow start, they could use Achiuwa to inject some life into the second unit.

Achiuwa is confident in his game especially on the defensive end. Earlier this season he commented on his defenive skills:

“I’m one of the best defenders in the league, there’s not five guys who can cover 1-thru-5 like I can.”

Achiuwa will be heading into restricted free agency after this season, assuming the Raptors tender him a $6.28-million qualifying offer.

Achiuwa didn’t want to talk about the extension falling through when asked about it, but instead wanted to talk about the upcoming season.

He hasn’t had a chance to quite prove himself yet due to injury, but the 24-year-old has a lot of untapped potential.

We’ll see if Achiuwa has a good shootaround and is able to suit up for the Raptors against the Mavericks.

Dennis Schroder among NBA assists leaders

One player who has gotten off to a great start so far for the Raptors is Dennis Schroder. Entering today, Schroder is among the NBA assists leaders with 62 total assists.

He’s in a tie for fourth most in the league with Chris Paul and and Luka Doncic who the Raptors will see next.
