The Toronto Raptors finish the preseason a perfect 4-0 after a dominating 134-98 win over the Washington Wizards.

Everything was going right for the Raptors until Scottie Barnes left the game in the third quarter after spraining his right foot.

Barnes limped off the court and did not return to the game.

Darko Rajakovic did provide an update on Scottie Barnes after the game saying “he’s completely fine.”

The Raptors have a couple of days off before their regular season opener against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Oct. 25, so hopefully that gives Barnes time to get back to 100%.

Before spraining his right foot, Barnes once again played well. He had 23 points, 6 rebounds, 2 blocks on 10/14 shooting and was 3/6 from deep. Barnes has been more aggressive and he has been shooting the ball more efficiently which is great to see.

Barnes looks primed for a big third year leap after a dominant preseason.

Pascal Siakam had another nice outing as he finished with 19 points, 8 rebounds on 7/16 shooting. Jakob Poeltl who returned from illness had 8 points along with 9 rebounds. Dennis Schroder got his teammates involved as he had 11 assists. O.G. Anunoby got his offense going with 15 points on 6/10 shooting. He helped limit Jordan Poole on the defensive end as well. Poole was an abysmal 1/15 from the field.

The Raptors defense was collectively a lot better in this one holding the Wizards to just 38 percent shooting from the field and 26 percent from deep. Toronto also had 10 blocked shots.

Toronto’s bench continues to impress. The Raptors second unit finished with 62 points. Gary Trent Jr. did not play in this one because he was given the night off. It was Malachi Flynn and Gradey Dick who lead the way. Flynn bounced back with 13 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists. Gradey Dick found his shooting stroke in this game as he finished with 12 points on 4/7 from the field and 4/5 from three.

Precious Achiuwa who played in his first preseason game had 9 points and 6 rebounds. Otto Porter Jr. who also appeared for the first time this preseason finished with 4 points in 10 minutes of action.

The Raptors had 66 points in the paint, 26 points off the fast break and 36 assists. They continue to move the ball well in Darko Rajakovic’s new offense.

Overall, the Raptors had a tremendous preseason. The team now looks to carry this momentum into the regular season.

Next on tap

The Raptors finish up their preseason 4-0 for the first time in franchise history. They will now get ready to begin their 2023-24 regular season.

The Raptors will host the Minnesota Timberwolves on Oct. 25. The Raptors split the season series with the Timberwolves last season.
