The Damian Lillard sweepstakes have been intriguing and all over the place.
The Toronto Raptors have been a team rumored to be in the running for the guard for the past couple of days.
If the Raptors were to get Lillard, it would be reminiscent of when they traded for Kawhi Leonard.
Matt Moore of The Action Network isn’t buying the latest buzz surrounding the Raptors when it comes to Lillard:
The Raptors were deep in talks for Damian Lillard on Thursday before pulling out, per @HPbasketball
“The Toronto stuff is just leveraging… I heard things were red hot on Thursday and again Masai walked away and then came back… I wouldn’t worry about the Raptors”

Lillard has four-years and nearly $220 million left on his contract
Given his deal, the Raptors would have to be certain that Lillard would play for them.
The 33-year-old is entering the ladder stages of his career, so this next stop may be his last.
Now that training camp is a week away, more rumors will surface around Lillard. Fans will see how serious the Trail Blazers actually are in moving their All-Star guard.
Raptors frontrunner for Lillard
Up to this point, it seems that the Trail Blazers and Miami Heat are far apart in terms of a deal.
While the Heat are still Lillard’s preferred destination, it feels that a surprise team might sneak in and trade for superstar.
That team may be the Raptors, especially if they can convince Lillard to play for them.
The Raptors can still make a compelling offer even without Scottie Barnes.
OG Anunoby would likely be the center point of any potential deal with salary filler and draft compensation. However, is that enough to get a deal done?
With the trade rumors heating up, it’s now believed the Raptors are the frontrunner in the Damian Lillard sweepstakes.
