David Johnson’s time with the Toronto Raptors organization is officially over.
Johnson has found a new home after playing in just two games at the NBA level.
According to Sportsnet’s Blake Murphy, the Raptors 905 have traded David Johnson to Memphis Hustle:
Raptors 905 have acquired Derrick Walton Jr., Tremont Waters, and a future first-round pick for the rights to David Johnson and a second-rounder

In the deal, Toronto receives Derrick Walton Jr., Tremont Waters, and a future first-round pick in the G League draft.
Derrick Walon Jr. has spent time with the Miami Heat, Los Angeles Clippers and most recently with the Detroit Pistons.
Meanwhile, Tremont Waters is a name that might be more familiar to Raptors fans.
Waters signed a 10-day contract with the Raptors when their roster was dealing with a COVID-19 outbreak.
He played in two games and scored eight points in 42 minutes of action.
Johnson leaves Raptors 905 after playing in a total of 51 games for the franchise, which ranks fourth all-time
This past season Johnson played in 28 games. He averaged 10.7 points, 3.0 rebounds and 2.9 assists per game in 21.6 minutes a night.
The Raptors had high hopes for Johnson when they drafted him 47th overall in the 2021 NBA draft, but unfortunately his career in the NBA hasn’t panned out yet.

NBA.com’s player stats has Johnson playing in only two games with the Raptors for an average of 1 minute.
Johnson did attempt one shot in garbage time in a game against the Indiana Pacers in October of 2021, but he missed it.
We’ll see if Johnson gets another crack in an NBA game with his new organization.
