Former Raptor Serge Ibaka is still on the market.

The 14-year veteran has been on the All-Defensive team three times and led the league in blocks twice.

Ibaka played with the Milwaukee Bucks in only 16 games last season before being traded to the Indiana Pacers. The Pacers later waived him.

As of right now Ibaka is still a free agent and he’s available for any team to sign him.

Ibaka was once one of the best power forwards in the league and now he’s searching for his next opportunity.

Ibaka’s last solid season came with the Raptors back in 2019-20. He averaged 15.4 points and 8.2 rebounds in 55 games. He helped the Raptors not miss a beat after Kawhi Leonard left during 2019 free agency.

Ibaka recently spoke highly about his experience in Toronto in a YouTube video for Uninterrupted:

“After four years, every time I come back here people still make me feel like it was yesterday. Every time when I come back here I feel like home. I think that, to me, is the most important thing.”

Another reason why Ibaka enjoys spending time in Toronto is because of its multiculturalism:

“This is one of the beautiful places where you see so many people from different places. “The culture here, it’s just so amazing, you feel so comfortable. When I’m here I feel so comfortable because I feel like I’m not the only one from somewhere else. It’s so beautiful.”

Ibaka hasn’t had much on-court success since his time with the Raptors. He failed to carve out a meaningful role with the Los Angeles Clippers and Milwaukee Bucks before ultimately being waived by the Indiana Pacers.

Should the Raptors bring back Serge Ibaka?

Serge Ibaka had a successful tenure with the Raptors. During his four seasons in Toronto Ibaka averaged 14.2 points, 7.4 rebounds, and 1.2 blocks in 228 games for the team.

He was an important piece from off the bench during the 2019 NBA playoffs, where he averaged 9.4 points, 6.0 rebounds and 1.0 blocks in 24 games.

Off the court Ibaka’s fashion sense was simply unmatched:

Unfortunately since then Ibaka hasn’t been able to stay healthy. He’s only played in 35 games over the last two seasons.

Also, the Raptors camp roster is already full and Toronto appears done making moves so a reunion with Ibaka seems out of the question.

Hopefully Ibaka is still able to land an opportunity with another team soon.
