The newest member of the Toronto Raptors, Markquis Nowell doesn’t lack confidence.

He’s a 5’8 point guard who has his sights set on a big career in the NBA.

Nowell, who signed a two-way contract with the Raptors after going undrafted in June, posted on his Instagram story on Monday night:

“One day, I’m gonna have everything I prayed for. I really believe it.”

He then put out a follow-up Instagram story saying that he plans to be the best Raptor ever:

Markquis Nowell’s confidence is admirable. He’s not going to let his size get in the way of his lofty goals.

He looks to follow in the footsteps of fellow undrafted player Fred VanVleet.

VanVleet went undrafted in 2016 as he developed into an All-Star and NBA champion during his time in Toronto.

Nowell expects to spend most of this season with the Raptors 905 G League squad. However, Nowell is motivated to make the most out of this opportunity as he tries to become the best player in Raptors franchise history.

Marquis Nowell’s March Madness run

Marquis Nowell was exceptional throughout the Wildcats’ four games during the 2023 March Madness tournament.

He averaged 23.5 points, 13.5 assists, 4.0 steals, 3.5 rebounds and 3.3 three-pointers in 40.0 minutes per contest.

He also set the men’s NCAA tournament game record with 19 assists in the Wildcats’ victory over Michigan State in the Sweet Sixteen.

Nowell shined the brightest in key moments helping lead Kansas State all the way to the Elite Eight.
