Immanuel Quickley still isn’t ready to return.
The Toronto Raptors have once again listed Quickley as doubtful to play on Nov. 6 against the Sacramento Kings.
Quickley continues to deal with a pelvic injury he suffered in the Raptors season opener against the Cleveland Cavaliers. This will be the seventh straight game Quickley has missed with the injury.
Quickley is with the team on Toronto’s five-game road trip and it doesn’t seem like he’s far away from returning to action. The Raptors are in no rush to bring him back and are proceeding with caution. It’s unclear at the moment when Quickley will be cleared to play.
The Raptors will continue to be without Scottie Barnes as he deals with an orbital bone fracture. The 23-year-old is expected to be out for at least two more weeks before Toronto will re-evaluate his status.
Veterans Kelly Olynyk and Bruce Brown remain out for Toronto and there is no timetable for their return.
The Kings will be at near full strength for this game with Kevin Huerter’s status still up in the air as he continues to deal with an illness that has kept him sidelined for two games.
The Raptors will be a heavy underdog on the road in Sacramento but the team did pull off the upset over the Kings on Nov. 2 led by RJ Barrett’s 31 points.
Jakob Poeltl is becoming irreplaceable for Raptors
Jakob Poeltl has been playing some of the best basketball of his career.
Poeltl had 24 points on 11-for-18 shooting from the field, 11 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals in 32 minutes before fouling out of Monday’s 121-119 loss to the Denver Nuggets.
The Raptors looked like they were going to get a big win in Denver. They led by 6 late in the fourth, before Poeltl picked up his 5th and 6th fouls in a span of 23 seconds. With Poeltl out of the game, the Nuggets outscored the Raptors 14-8 down the stretch.
