Toronto Raptors point guard Immanuel Quickley did not participate in practice Thursday.
Quickley left the Raptors season opener early against the Cleveland Cavaliers with a right pelvic contusion. Quickley will be doubtful Friday when the Raptors host the Philadelphia 76ers, per TSN’s Josh Lewenberg.
Quickly suffered the injury late in the first-half when he came down hard on his back after Cavaliers guard Darius Garland undercut him as he was going for a rebound.
The 25-year-old had worked his way back from a thumb sprain and got off to a good start for Toronto. He scored 13 points in 14 minutes of action. If Quickley is unable to play against Philadelphia, expect Davion Mitchell to get the start.
Meanwhile, RJ Barrett took some contact in practice and participated in 2-on-2 drills. The plan is to ramp up Barrett Friday morning at shootaround, but he is also doubtful against the 76ers, per Lewenberg. Barrett continues to tend to an AC joint injury he suffered in the Raptors preseason opener.
Canadian big man Kelly Olynyk, who did not play on opening night, also did not practice Thursday. Raptors head coach Darko Rajakovic said he doesn’t think Olynyk’s back injury will be a long-term issue, but he still needs time to recover. He will be out against the 76ers, per Lewenberg.
Raptors 2024 first-round pick Ja’Kobe Walter will be out as well as he is recovering from his AC joint injury. Meanwhile, Bruce Brown Jr. seems like the furthest player to return as he continues to recover from his offseason knee surgery.
76ers head coach Nick Nurse said Joel Embiid and Paul George are progressing, but they did not scrimmage today at practice, per Sports Radio 94.1 WIP. Embiid has been ruled out for the first week of the season due to injury management, so he will not suit up against the Raptors.

The Toronto Raptors will be getting a purple court after all.
The NBA unveiled the Raptors court for the 2024 Emirates NBA Cup and it will be purple.
The Raptors have brought back their iconic purple jerseys for their 30th anniversary season, so it’s only fitting that the court will also feature the classic purple.
