The Toronto Raptors 2024-25 regular season schedule has been revealed.
This season will mark the Raptors’ 30th anniversary in the league.
Toronto will enter this season in the midst of their rebuild. They have their young core set with Scottie Barnes, Immanuel Quickley and RJ Barrett leading the way. With the Eastern Conference being weak at the bottom this season, Toronto could potentially sneak in as a Play-In team.
Nonetheless, here are the top-10 Raptors games to look forward to for this upcoming season.
Best games on Raptors schedule
Cleveland Cavaliers @ Toronto Raptors – Oct. 23
Toronto begins their season at home against the Cavaliers. Even though the Raptors don’t have championship aspirations this season, opening night is always filled with excitement and a glimmer of hope that things will go well during the season. This can be an opportunity for the Raptors to start their season off with a bang by beating a pretty good opponent in Cleveland.
Toronto Raptors @ Los Angeles Lakers – Nov. 11
This will be the Raptors first game in Los Angeles against the Lakers since the infamous Darko Rajakovic rant from last season.
Toronto lost a wildly entertaining game 132-131 to the Lakers, which saw the Lakers get 36 free throws to the Raptors 13. The gap was even more in the fourth quarter, as the Lakers shot 23 free throws compared to just 2 for the Raptors. After the game, Rajakovic had an animated rant for the ages.
Toronto Raptors @ Milwaukee Bucks – Nov. 12
This will be the Raptors first 2024 NBA Emirates Cup game. The Raptors will begin their quest for the trophy by taking on a group that will feature the Milwaukee Bucks, Detroit Pistons Indiana Pacers and Milwaukee Bucks.
Toronto finished last year’s NBA Cup 1-3 and will look to have a better showing this season. They will go up against Giannis Antetokounmpo, Damian Lillard and former Raptor Gary Trent Jr. who signed with the Bucks this offseason.
Indiana Pacers @ Toronto Raptors – Nov. 18
Pascal Siakam and the Pacers come to town in late November.
Scottie Barnes and Siakam engaged in an epic showdown last season when Siakam made his return to Toronto. This matchup will once again be exciting as fans will get to see the Raptors current face of the franchise go up against the former face of the team.
Oklahoma City Thunder @ Toronto Raptors – Dec. 5
Canadian Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has cemented himself as one of the best players in the NBA.
All eyes will be on the Hamilton, Ont., native in this game. Gilgeous-Alexander always delivers in Toronto, averaging 26.5 points per game in four contests at Scotiabank Arena. This game will have plenty of Canadian representation as we could see as many as five players in this game from north of the border.
Montreal’s Lu Dort will be next to Gilgeous-Alexander on the Thunder, meanwhile Toronto will have RJ Barrett, Kelly Olynyk and Chris Boucher.
New York Knicks @ Toronto Raptors – Dec. 9
O.G. Anunoby made his return to Toronto last season but he did not play because he was nursing an elbow injury. It’ll be exciting to see Anunoby play in front of the fans who watched him blossom into the player he is today.
Anunoby and the Knicks are seen as championship contenders this season, so this will make for a must-see game.
Houston Rockets @ Toronto Raptors – Dec. 22
Another former Raptor who didn’t get to play in his return to Toronto last season was Fred VanVleet. He will get a chance to put on a show on the same floor where he had many standout games in a Raptors uniform.
VanVleet quickly became a fan favorite in Toronto. He joined the Raptors in 2016 and was an integral part of their championship team in 2019. VanVleet was also named an NBA All-Star with the Raptors in 2022.
Toronto Raptors @ New York Knicks – Jan. 8
This will be the Raptors lone game on ESPN this season.
Toronto only has 4 nationally televised games, which is tied for the fewest this year with the Detroit Pistons and Portland Trailblazers.
This is why Toronto needs to make the most out of this opportunity and have a good outing against the Knicks at Madison Square Garden.
Memphis Grizzlies @ Toronto Raptors – Feb. 5
Zach Edey will make his hometown debut on Feb. 5. Edey was linked to the Raptors in many mock drafts but his draft stock quickly rose, as he was selected No. 9 overall by the Grizzlies at the 2024 NBA Draft.
There are many people who think Edey will flop in the NBA, but some believe Edey could truly flourish as a traditional big man. By this time we’ll know exactly how Edey looks at the NBA level and this will be a chance for Raptors fans to get a close look at the big man out of Purdue.
San Antonio Spurs @ Toronto Raptors – March 23
Victor Wembanyama will make his lone trip to Toronto on March 23, 2025. Who knows how great of a player Wembanyama will be at this point.
Nonetheless, this will make for an exiting matchup between Wembanyama and Barnes. Both players squared off in an epic duel early last season in San Antonio. Then Wembanyama put on a clinic at Scotiabank Arena in February. He dominated the matchup against the Raptors, finishing with 27 points, 14 rebounds, 10 blocks and 5 assists resulting in a 23-point victory for San Antonio. We’ll see what Wembanyama will have in store for his encore in Toronto.
