Former Toronto Raptors guard Terence Davis might be getting another shot in the NBA.
Davis has reportedly worked out for the Milwaukee Bucks this summer, according to HoopsHype’s Michael Scotto.
Davis did not play in the NBA last season and only played in seven games in the G League due to an Achilles injury.
The 27-year-old’s NBA career started out strong. He had an impressive rookie season with the Raptors in 2019-20. Davis averaging 7.5 points and 3.3 rebounds per game while shooting 38.8 percent from the field. As a result, he earned second-team All-Rookie honors and he finished sixth in Rookie of the Year voting that season.
Then Davis was arrested following his rookie season due to allegedly assaulting his girlfriend. The charges on Davis were dropped and he was never suspended by the NBA.
Thereafter, the Raptors traded Davis to the Sacramento Kings for a second-round pick in 2021. Davis was in Sacramento for three seasons.
Davis averaged 11.1 points on 43.9 percent shooting from the field in 27 games with the Kings in 2020-21. He then averaged 10.4 points on 42.3 percent shooting from the field in 30 games with Sacramento in 2021-22. Davis played in 64 games for the Kings in 2022-23, but his scoring average dropped to 6.7 points and was given just 13 minutes of action per game.
In December of 2023, Davis signed with the Rip City Remix, Portland’s G League affiliate. That’s where he averaged 15.3 points in 7 games last year.
The Bucks have made the most out of their limited cap flexibility this offseason, signing former Raptors guard Gary Trent Jr. to a one-year deal.
It’ll be interesting to see if Davis gets a shot with the Bucks down the line.
Raptors have 4 national TV games for 2024-25 season
The Raptors are in the midst of their rebuild. Therefore, Toronto isn’t expected to win a lot of games nor be a playoff team.
This is reflected in the lack of nationally television games the Raptors have for this season. The Raptors only have 4 games on national TV, which includes games broadcasted on ESPN, TNT, ABC, and NBA TV. This is tied for dead last in the NBA with the Portland Trail Blazers and Detroit Pistons.
It’ll be interesting to see if Davis gets a shot with the Bucks down the line.
