The 2024 NBA Draft is less than three weeks away.
The Toronto Raptors are getting ready for what will be an eventful two-day event.
The Raptors have picks No. 19 and No. 31 to work with as many prospects have been linked to them over the last couple of weeks.
ESPN’s Jonathan Givony and Jeremy Woo put out their latest mock draft and Givony has the Raptors taking Kyshawn George out of Miami at No. 19:
“George will be getting looks from many of the teams looking for wing shooting from the late lottery through the early 20s, including Oklahoma City, Sacramento, Portland, Orlando and Toronto. The fact that he stands over 6-foot-8 but has guard skills, fluidity changing speeds and strong instincts on both ends of the floor helps his appeal with multipositional versatility.
George is a late bloomer who grew 9 inches over the past four years and wasn’t expected to emerge as a one-and-done prospect upon enrolling at Miami. NBA teams are hoping to get a closer look at him in the pre-draft process to get a better feel for what his long-term trajectory might look like.”
In 31 games as a freshman George averaged 7.6 points, 3.0 rebounds, 2.2 assists on 42.6 percent shooting from the field and 40.8 percent shooting from three in 32.3 minutes per contest. George is a jumbo-sized guard/wing with big-time upside.
He’s got great handles and size at 6’8″ to see over the defense. He showed off a really nice outside shot, hitting close to 41 percent of his threes on decent volume. This floor spacing ability would be a great fit alongside Scottie Barnes.
Givony and Woo then have the Raptors taking Justin Edwards out of Kentucky at No. 31.
Raptors could command ‘serious’ offer for no. 31 pick
As the Raptors look to zero in on their selections for the draft, there’s always a chance they could end up trading one of their picks.
According to The Atheltic’s Sam Vecenie, the Raptors could have a lot of interest for their No. 31 pick.
