Former Toronto Raptors guard Dennis Schroder is keeping busy this offseason.
He made his pro soccer debut, suiting up for FC Germania Bleckenstedt in Germany’s sixth-tier league:

This is an impressive accomplishment for Schroder, joining a short list of two-sport athletes.
Schroder played 62 minutes in the 5-1 loss for his team. Schroder got to play alongside his brother-in-law, Daniel Ziolo, who currently plays for Bleckenstedt.
The Raptors signed Schroder last summer, hoping they had found their replacement for Fred VanVleet who left Toronto to join the Houston Rockets in free agency.
Schroder started the season as the Raptors starting point guard but then faced some struggles which led to Toronto bringing him from off the bench.
Schroder had some nice games with the Raptors, however his tenure in Toronto was cut short when the Raptors decided to go in a full rebuild. As a result the Raptors traded Schroder to the Brooklyn Nets at the 2023 NBA Trade Deadline in a salary-dumping move that saw the Raptors acquire and then waive Spencer Dinwiddie.
The 30-year-old averaged 13.7 points, 6.1 assists and 2.7 rebounds in 51 games for Toronto this past season.
Schroder spent last summer playing a huge role on the German senior men’s national team. He led them to a gold medal at the FIBA World Cup and he will once again be on the German team this summer at the Paris Olympics.
ESPN has Raptors taking Kyshawn George out of Miami
The 2024 NBA Draft is fast approaching for the Toronto Raptors. They will have to make a decision about who they want to take in the first-round with their No. 19 pick.
One player who has been mentioned as a potential pick for Toronto is Kyshawn George out of Miami. ESPN’s Jonathan Givony and Jeremy Woo put out their latest mock draft and Givony has the Raptors taking the wing.
