The 2024 NBA Draft is fast approaching.
It is set to take place on June 26 and 27 as the Toronto Raptors will have two picks in their pocket.
They will have No. 19 via the Indiana Pacers and No. 31 via the Detroit Pistons.
There is a lot of speculation about who the Raptors will add to their young core. This is said to be an unpredictable draft so things are constantly changing. However, there are a few players who are being linked to the Raptors at No. 19 more often now.
One of those players is Kyshawn George out of Miami who Brian Lewis of the New York Post has Toronto taking with their first-round pick:
“Toronto spent years winning based on a bevy of wings who used their long wingspans to defend. George, who has sprouted up 9 inches in the past five years, now fits the mold physically, with his 6-9 wingspan. Add in the fact he hit 40.8 percent from deep at Coral Gables, and it’s easy to see how his spacing would help star forward Scottie Barnes and a Raptors team that was fourth-worst in 3-pointers made (11.5) and 3-point percentage (.347).”
In 2023-24, George averaged 7.6 points, 3.0 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 0.4 blocks and 0.9 steals per game. He shot 42.6 percent from the field, 40.8 percent from three and 77.8 percent from the free throw line.
George’s greatest strength is his perimeter shooting. Shooting 40.8 percent from three on 4.2 attempts per game is impressive. Also he’s got great size for a shooter as George is 6’8″ with a 6’10” wingspan.
Another nice part to George’s game is his playmaking. He has a very good passing IQ and makes the right decisions on offense.
George would fit a need on the Raptors as the team lacks three-point shooting. The Raptors drafted sharpshooter Gradey Dick No. 13 last year, so they could look to add another shooting prospect this year.
