The Toronto Raptors are entering a new phase of their organization by embracing a rebuild.
Toronto decided to embrace a new direction by building around rising star Scottie Barnes. Pascal Siakam and O.G. Anunoby were subject to deals in order to bring younger talent around Barnes.
With that came a lot of losing and tanking in hopes of keeping their first-round pick in the 2024 NBA Draft. To do so, the Raptors need to be the sixth-worst team in the league to give themselves the best chance.
As the regular season winds down, Toronto is slowly turning its focus to making improvements for the 2024-25 season. However, it looks like the organization is adding another advertising partner with PRIME, a hydration drink created by content creators Logan Paul and KSI:
PRIME offers hydration and energy drinks that feature BCAAs, vitamins, antioxidants and electrolytes. It seems that Paul and KSI are looking to grow their product by bringing it to the NBA.
Toronto is not the only team that has partnered with the company as it was announced back in March that they partnered with the Los Angeles Lakers, making PRIME the official sports drink of the Lakers.
Being based in the United States, it would make sense to take the product over the border to expand their consumer base.
Toronto closing in on longest losing streak in franchise history
The unfortunate reality of embarking on a rebuild is that losing could dampen the mood of the players and fans. But, it is necessary to position themselves to have the best draft position possible.
Currently on a 14-game losing streak, the Raptors could make some franchise history and not good history. The longest losing streak for Toronto is 17 games set in 1997 and it will be interesting to see if this team will surpass that mark.
Up next for the Raptors are the Minnesota Timberwolves, Milwaukee Bucks, Washington Wizards and Indiana Pacers.
