The Toronto Raptors teamed up with Sinai Health to host a basketball tournament that included Raptors superfan Nav Bhatia as ambassador.
Raptors for Research, plus the support of Sinai Health’s Lunenfeld-Tanenbaum Research Institute had teams play in a 3-on-3 basketball tournament in collaboration with the Raptors.
The top four teams in the tournament earn the chance to face off against one another for the title at the Raptor’s practice court at OVO Athletic Centre. Some prizes include lower bowl or courtside tickets to a Raptors game.
Tracy Abergel, director of events for Sinai Health Foundation spoke about the great partnership they have with the Raptors to put on this great event, via Hayley McGoldrick of City News:
“The Raptors have been amazing and great partners, it’s been great to work with the MLSE team, they’ve been a really critical partner in securing the prizes. It’s a fun day, it’s not just basketball, it’s family oriented … it’s exciting to see a world where people who love Sinai Health and have an affinity to the Raptors are a part of the same event.”
When it comes to charity, this empowers the community to come together and contribute to a great cause.
For those wanting to enter this tournament, the fundraising goal to enter is $2,500 as this gets serious fundraisers to participate and increases the importance of this tournament.
This event does not seems to be going anywhere soon and the Raptors will continue their partnership with Sinai Health for the foreseeable future.
Darko Rajakovic and his wife donating $20 to Children’s Hospitals for every assist this season
A key characteristic for this year’s Toronto team is their unselfishness. Toronto has been a high-
assist team for the majority of the season.
To pay back that unselfishness, head coach Darko Rajakovic and his wife are donating $20 to Children’s Hospitals for every assist for the rest of this season.
