Toronto Raptors forward Scottie Barnes is officially a first-time All-Star.
The third year player got selected as an injury replacement along with Atlanta Hawks guard Trae Young.
Barnes joins a short list of Raptors players who have made it to an NBA All-Star Game.
He will share the floor with the best players in the league tonight.
Barnes talked about being an All-Star and what his ultimate goal is with Toronto via TSN’s Kayla Grey:
“You know, first two years, start off the first year strong, Rookie of the year and then you know right now, we’re All-Star. Last year made the Rising Stars game, but you know, I think my path is more than that, it’s winning basketball games with our team and team success. My ultimate goal at the end of the day is trying to win a championship with the Raptors, and you know, that my main focus.”

The Raptors need someone to build around going into their future and Barnes seems to be that guy. The 22-year-old has already shown flashes of being a superstar.
He is only scratching the surface when it comes to his career so there is still plenty of room to grow.
Being in the NBA All-Star Game is only going to help him continue to grow as a player and person.
