The Toronto Raptors just suffered one of their worst loses in franchise history.
They got trounced on the road by the New Orleans Pelicans 138-100.
The Raptors were without RJ Barrett who missed this game due to injury management and they never stood a chance.
The Pelicans brought it from the opening tip and lead by as many as 43 points.
Ingram led the way for the Pelicans with a season-high 41-points on a career-high eight three-pointers. He hit six of them during the third quarter.
The only bright spot for the Raptors in this blowout loss was rookie Gradey Dick.
Dick scored a career-high 22 points on four three-pointers made. Scottie Barnes scored 17, and Jakob Poeltl had 14 points and 9 rebounds.
Darko Rajakovic was not happy about the Raptors effort in this one
“Fatigue is part of this league and this is a league that there are no excuses,” Raptors coach Rajakovic said. “Nobody’s asking you what did you do yesterday. You’ve got a job to do today and our performance today was unacceptable and this is not the way we want to go about our business.”
The Raptors were coming off a hard fought battle against the Oklahoma City Thunder. A game in which they almost won. And then they turned in one of their worst performances of the season the next night.
The Raptors are in a rebuild and having games go south like this is beginning to become a common theme.
It will be interesting to see what Masai Ujiri does before the trade deadline which is two days away.
