Scottie Barnes is having a great third year with the Toronto Raptors.
There was a lot of speculation on if Barnes was going to make it to his first ever NBA All-Star Game.
After the starters were announced on Jan. 24, it was going to come down to if Barnes would be able to get in as a reserve.
The reserve spots for both the East and West are decided upon the coaches.
Ultimately, Barnes did not get selected as an All-Star reserve:

The Eastern Conference reserves are: Jaylen Brown, Donovan Mitchell, Jalen Brunson, Bam Adebayo, Julius Randle, Tyrese Maxey and Paolo Banchero.
It was always going to be tough for Barnes to get in just because of how much talent there is in the East. Also, the Raptors poor record really hurt the 22-year-old’s chances.
The players selected ahead of Barnes are all have great seasons and all seven reserves are deserving of their spot.
But not all hope is lost because Barnes could still find his way to the All-Star Game in Indiana on Feb. 18 as an injury replacement.
Randle is going to miss 2-3 weeks with a shoulder injury so it doesn’t seem likely that the Knicks will rush him back to play in the All-Star Game.
Also, Joel Embiid injured his lateral meniscus in his left knee and will be out through the weekend while a treatment plan is finalized per ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski. Given the severity of Embiid’s injury, he could also be out for the All-Star Game.
Barnes is having a solid season
Even if Barnes doesn’t find his way to the All-Star Game it should not take away from the excellent season he is having.
Barnes has seen a major uptick in his production across the board.
For the season Barnes is averaging 20.2 points, 8.2 rebounds, 5.8 assists, 1.5 blocks and 1.3 steals per game on 47.6 percent shooting from the field and 35.9 percent shooting from deep.
Barnes is definitely on track to become a future All-Star one day.
