After a 2-2 homestand, the Toronto Raptors now head out on a quick two-game road that is a back-to-back.
The Raptors kick things off on Tuesday against a much improved Orlando Magic team. Then take on the Indiana Pacers on Nov. 22.
If Toronto wants to get back into the playoff mix, these are seemingly the two teams they have to beat out.
Before the team flew to Orlando, players took the time to sing happy birthday to Gradey Dick, whose birthday was on Nov. 20:
It has been an up-and-down start for the Raptors. Despite some struggles, the players look to be in good spirits as it is a long season.
Team chemistry is vital throughout an 82-game season and it seems to be going well thus far. Road trips can serve as bonding moments for teams, but picking up these two wins would be a huge plus for team morale.
However, Dick was a sought-after prospect and his draft stock rised due to his shooting capabilities. Since being drafted by the Raptors, Dick has become a popular name in the city and once he starts to put it together, his popularity will grow even more.
The now 20-year-old has had some struggles through his first 13 games as a Raptor. Averaging 4.1 points, 1.5 rebounds and 1 assist on 27.1% from the field and 23.7% from 3.
Every rookie has their struggles trying to transfer their game from the college level to the NBA. Dick is no different as he’ll need time to develop and learn from his mistakes.
When it comes to one-and-done prospects, they are far from perfect and need time to adjust. Gradey’s shooting abilities should benefit Toronto greatly in the long run.
Dick celebrates birthday on Sunday
After Toronto’s blowout win against the Detroit Pistons on Nov. 19 Dick and some teammates celebrated his birthday at a Thai restaurant in Toronto.
While it was the day before his birthday, it was nice to see the rookie squeeze in a birthday dinner before heading out on the road.
