Team Germany will advance to the gold medal game at the 2023 FIBA World Cup, not Team USA.
In a shocking upset, Germany knocks off the USA 113-111. Andreas Obst scored 24 points and Franz Wagner added 22.
Germany eliminates a United States squad that features 12 NBA players on their roster:

Dennis Schroder bounced back in a big way for Team Germany. Coming off a horrendous 4-26 shooting performance against Latvia, which he called his ‘worst game’, Schroder put up 17 points on 7-13 shooting and 9 assists. He also hit a clutch dagger on his former teammate Austin Reaves to seal the win:

Schroder has been playing on another level during the 2023 FIBA World Cup. He’s been one of the best players at the tournament. Schroder can create separation, finish at the rim, has good passing instincts and wreaks havoc on opposing defenses. He took it to USA’s defense throughout the entire game.
Schroder spoke to Magenta Sport after the game, and had high praise for his team:
“My team is extremely awesome. I think this is the best team I’ve ever been on, whether it’s the NBA or the national team.”
Team Germany are still the only unbeaten team in the tournament. They will play in a FIBA World Cup final on Sunday for the first time in the country’s history. They will take on Serbia, a team that is fresh off of beating Canada.
Raptors’ guard Dennis Schroder continues to impress
If Schroder plays as well as he’s been playing at the FIBA World Cup with the Raptors, then he will be the steal of the offseason for Toronto. Whether Schroder starts or comes from off the bench, he will be an impact player for his new team.
Schroder has been a huge part in Team Germany’s success from the start. He now looks to help Germany finish the job by winning gold on Sunday against a Serbian team that has not missed a beat without Nikola Jokic.
